Prayer Of Confession, February 4, 2024
Holy God, righteous and mighty, you love justice and repay to all according to their work. We ourselves can claim no innocence in your presence, neither have we paid sufficient regard to your works of power and love. Hear the sound of our pleadings, O Lord, for we are broken down and longing to be built up once more. Bring to our minds every sin that has yet to be confessed or forgiven, that we might take action to make peace and be reconciled to our neighbors, and say to you without any trace of hypocrisy: “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Cleanse us of every stain, grant us the gracious gift of a clear conscience, and instill in us the earnest desire to act honorably in all things. This we ask in Jesus’ holy and exalted name. Amen
