Prayer Of Confession, October 20, 2024
O Lord , we confess there is no soundness in our flesh because of your indignation; there is no health in our bones because of our sin. Our iniquities have overwhelmed us; they weigh like a burden too heavy to bear. Our wounds grow foul because of our foolishness. We are utterly bowed down and prostrated; we go around in mourning. Yet, all our longing is known to you; our sighing is not hidden from you. Our hearts throb, our strength fails, and the light of our eyes grows dim. But it is for you, O Lord , that we wait; it is you, our God, who will answer. For we confess our iniquity and we are sorry for our sin. Do not forsake us, O Lord our God; do not be far away. Forgive us, O God; make haste to help us, for you alone are strong to save. We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
